Many managers and team-leaders recognise the value of promoting enjoyment, fun and positivity at work. People who enjoy their work are more engaged, productive and stay longer in their jobs. So what strategies can management use to create and maintain a fun work environment? At last there is a forum to help managers tackle that question!

The ‘Are you Managing to Have Enough Fun at Work?' course will present managers with the latest research on fun at work. It will also take them through a series of practical steps that they can use to promote fun in their work-place. A key component of the course is the opportunity for participants to learn together by sharing their ideas and experiences. For this reason it will be limited to 10 participants.

Course Objectives:

By the end of the course participants will be able to:

  • Explain the value of fun and humour at work for both workers and business
  • Identify key learnings from current research on fun at work
  • Work with staff to decide on strategies that could enhance enjoyment, fun and positivity at work

Presenter:

Dr Kathryn Owler has extensive academic, training and social practice experience. She currently combines these skills with a passion for promoting positive psycho-social factors at work, through her role as a Company Director of Joyworkz Ltd. Kathryn is also a Research Associate with AUT Business School. At present she is conducting research into the impact of fun at work on employee engagement.
